Today I was reading this article by Paul Morrell (article link), where by he has described the uptake of BIM (Building Information Modeling) as “unstoppable”. I couldn’t agree more. It’s great to see people this high up in the UK government taking such an interest in how technology can & is transforming the construction industry.
Another key part he notes is the huge benefits contractors are gaining from BIM. Whether via cost waste savings or by simply reducing errors on site. This is a trend we are finding all around the globe. BIM really starts moving once it is adopted by big contractors in that region, then it filters (or gets forced) through to other consultants within that region.
